Weekend Pondering – 4th of July
Posted by JohnJul 4
- I’m thankful for Sarah Palin… she knocked Michael Jackson out of the lead on the Nightly News last night.
- Let me get this straight… California is giving people IOU’s instead of paychecks, there was public bitching over the Lakers’ championship parade because of the cost and California is closing their state parks because they are a Kajillion dollars in debt… BUT, it’s ok to spend $5million for MJ’s memorial service at the Staples Center.
- On what planet does that make sense?
- My sister is an Avon rep. I finally succumbed to her amazing sales talents and bought a Black Suede gift set and a bottle of Jeter’s cologne… ‘effin Yankees!
- Then she sends me an email telling me my 10-year old nephew uses the Black Suede… FML!
- Why do we celebrate the same thing we fault the Iraqi’s for doing?
- Think about it. The Founding Fathers were essentially terrorists. It’s all a matter of perspective.
- The X called to ask if I wanted to take the kids to the fireworks show. It’s “her holiday”; what do I do?
- Auto-erotic asphyxiation must be a bitter-sweet way to die.
- I only have 4 days left of my 30’s
- The Crown of the Statue of Liberty re-opens today after being closed post-9/11. Why has it been closed for EIGHT years?
- I wish someone could understand how much I am DONE with Residential Services to the Mentally Ill.
- There is a fine line between the symptoms of Mental Illness and being an asshole… these guys are WAY past it!
- In the same way the only difference between US and THEM is a diagnosis… there is also being able to recognize when you’re being an asshole.
- I am reminded every day I work; I will not be staying in the Mental Health field… for long.
- Now, I’m off to prepare their 4th of July BBQ… like they will appreciate it.
- that’s all I got.

I was hoping LA would say – sorry, nope, not going to happen. There really isn’t much to celebrate about this fellow – more to mourn the abuse and the potential lost.

John, I know what you mean about Residential Case Work for mentally ill. I only did if for 4 months and I was DONE. I also am hoping to stay away from mental health after graduation, but you never know.
Have a happy 4th and a fabulous summer. It’s not the same not seeing everyone in class.
